Water Cycle Innovation (WCI) was launched in May 2022. It is a unique consultancy company that fills a void in the water-for-development sector by tying expertise across the water cycle together. In doing so, it supports the identification of sustainable solutions under current climate and environmental degradation pressure, while enhancing resilience of populations in low and middle-income countries. The hallmark of WCI is the integration of groundwater into holistic nature-based climate-resilient and food-secure policies and practice at catchment to regional scales. Importantly, it addresses the growing need of countries to cooperate around their shared water resources while addressing ecosystem integrity, climate variability and change, and the water security and livelihoods of local populations. Identifying sustainable and acceptable solutions in collaboration with stakeholders at various levels is the key.
