Our leader's experience

Dr Karen Villholth, the Director of Water Cycle Innovation (Pty) Ltd, has more than 30 years’ of experience in research for development. She worked for the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) for 13 years in Asia and Africa. She initiated, and for more than 5 years, chaired the Groundwater Solutions Initiative for Policy and Practice (GRIPP), a global partnership of 30 international organizations with mandates in development, use and management of groundwater for sustainable development. She has led and managed multiple international research projects and has experience with managing large research teams. She has been acting as a strategic advisor to several countries, international bodies, including the African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW) and various UN organizations on groundwater for sustainable development.
